With the benefit of a couple of weeks and a fair bit of feedback from this post, one thing I wish I’d put in the article is the idea that job is a relation. The reason I think Graeber’s ‘trust the worker’ approach is a problem is that the worker isn’t the only one implicated in their job — their boss, and their company, is too.

Now there’s a whole other discussion to be had on what responsibilitites bosses and companies have to their workers that could stem from this notion of ‘bullshit’, but that’s another article.
